2013 is only one day away.  2012 has been an eventful year and also contained several tragedies such as Hurricane Sandy and the Newtown school shooting.  The fiscal cliff looms, and some still hold out hope it can be inverted.  While no year is without strife, here is hoping that 2013 is a less tumultuous year.

Around the web, I have been reading some excellent personal finance articles.  Here are some of my favorites:

1. My Journey to Millions paid off one of his student loans 4.5 years early.  Way to go!
2. How would you like to make an extra $950 in a year just for using credit cards?  Money Life and More explains how he did just that.
3. Why not start the new year right, with a raise?  Work, Save, Live explains how to ask your boss for a raise.
4. Frugal Confessions achieved some lofty financial goals in 2012.
5. KrantCents explains that progress is never a straight line.  If you are setting goals for 2013, make sure to read this post.
6. I love year end reviews, especially when they are as successful as My Personal Finance Journey’s.
7. Retire by 40 left his corporate job this year and explains how he still brings in 50% of his family’s income.
8. Are you newly married?  Do you experience frustration with combined finances as Jeff from Sustainable Life Blog does?
9. Many personal finance bloggers encourage people to be completely debt free, but Money Help for Christians explains why even that goal has a dark side.
10. Think you can’t invest if you have less than $100 a month to invest?  Money Cone tells you that you can.
11. Couple Money shares the best of her posts for the year.
12. The Financial Blogger explains why a newsletter is essential to your blog and what you want to include in your newsletter.
13. How do you think you will feel on your 64th birthday?  Family Money Values shares what the day and the years ahead mean to her.
14. Your kids may still have one more week of Christmas vacation; Prairie Eco Thrifter shares how to keep them entertained frugally.
