One of the banks that has been getting a lot of notice lately is PerkStreet Financial. PerkStreet is a bank that is known for its rewards checking account. As part of your PerkStreet rewards checking, you can use the debit MasterCard to improve your rewards.

PerkStreet Checking
PerkStreet offers a free online checking account with rewards. You can choose coffee, music and cash. You can also redeem rewards for gift cards at different merchants. Additionally, PerkStreet has a large network of fee-free ATMs for cash access. Free online bill pay is included as well. When your checking account balance is more than $5,000, you will earn 2%. You still 1% if your account balance drops below $5,000. This is a fairly generous interest bearing checking account.

Other advantages you can expect with a PerkStreet checking account include a free check book, electronic transfers, customer support 24/7, and FDIC insurance. This means that you can rest easy, knowing that your money is safe.

Debit MasterCard
You can improve the rewards you receive by using the PerkStreet Financial Debit MasterCard. Right now, PerkStreet is running a special that allows you 5% cash back in certain categories, with 2% back on regular purchases. You do, however, have to make sure that you are making non-PIN transactions. If you use your PIN at checkout, you will not get the cash back bonus. To complete a signature transaction, you choose credit, instead of debit. Realize, though, that even though you choose credit, and sign for your purchase, your money is still taken out of your checking account.

According to PerkStreet, the average family earns about $600 in rewards each year. However, the reward potential is unlimited. Used properly, your PerkStreet Debit MasterCard can be a solid financial tool that helps you save money, and even improve your financial situation. Use it to help your budget. Plan your purchases so that you get maximum rewards — especially during this special promotional time with 5% cash back on certain purchases, such as gas, home improvement at certain stores, and the Apple Store (June 24 – June 27).

Unlike some rewards debit cards, the PerkStreet Financial Debit MasterCard actually comes with no annual fee. This is a plus, since you don’t have fees cutting into your rewards.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a new checking account, it might be worth it to consider PerkStreet Financial. The checking account provides a number of perks, without high costs. And the Debit MasterCard that you can get with the account has attractive terms and rewards.

Here is a summary of all the features of Perkstreet Financial Account:
