5 Ways You Can You Use Swagbucks

Last week we discussed the many ways you can earn Swagbucks from searching the Internet to completing surveys.  Once you have started accruing Swagbucks, the question becomes, what can you redeem them for?

Actually, you can redeem Swagbucks for plenty of things.

1. Donate to Charity

If you would like to donate to charity but don’t have the extra cash, you can use Swagbucks to give money to a charity. Swagbucks offers a number of charities you can donate to.  Right now, they are heavily promoting donations to a relief fund for Hurricane Sandy victims.  Other charities include Unicef, the Humane Society and a clean water donation drive.  You can choose the number of Swagbucks you would like to donate.  Each Swagbuck you donate equates to .01 in cash, so if you donate 1,000 Swagbucks, you are donating $10.

2. Redeem for gift cards or cash

You can also take your Swagbucks and redeem for gift cards or PayPal cash.  For instance, you can redeem 10,000 Swagbucks for $100 Pay Pal cash.  This is my preferred method of redemption; it is like free cash!  If you shop on Amazon frequently, you can also redeem your Swagbucks for Amazon gift cards.  Redeem 10,000 Swagbucks for a $100 Amazon gift card.  Other gift card choices include restaurants such as TGI Friday’s, Rainforest Cafe, Applebee’s and Steak and Shake, to name a few.  You can also redeem for gift cards as varied as spa visits to FTD to Best Buy.

3. Redeem for Merchandise

Swagbucks has almost everything you can imagine available for Swagbucks redemption.   Looking for a Halloween costume for the kids or a toy for Christmas?  You can buy them on Swagbucks for anywhere from 3,000 to 7,000 Swagbucks.  Want a musical instrument?  You can get a 5 piece drum set for a little over 37,000 Swagbucks.  Of course, not all prizes cost so many Swagbucks.  There are plenty of smaller items available for only a few Swagbucks.

4. Redeem for Local Discounts

Maybe you haven’t earned a lot of Swagbucks yet, but you would still like to get something.  You can go to the section, “discounts and savings” and find discounts for local companies.  For instance, in my area, a local restaurant is offering the discount, “enjoy a food order at 50% off the regular price” for 50 Swagbucks.  A local Gap store is offering $15 off a $75 purchase for 50 Swagbucks.  There is even an offer for 15% off contact lenses at the local JC Penney Optical store.

5.  Enter Sweepstakes

If you have some Swagbucks you want to gamble with, so to speak, you can enter one of the many Swagstakes offered.  Entry into a Swagstakes can be as low as one or two Swagbucks to as much as 12 Swagbucks, depending on the offer.  I have not used these before because if I am going to redeem my Swagbucks, I want something tangible in return.

Swagbucks can’t be beat for the many ways there are to earn Swagbucks as well as the many hundreds of prizes available when you redeem Swagbucks.

Have you used Swagbucks?  What did you redeem the points for?
